African American & Latinos bolster a buying power in the U.S. well over $1.3 trillion currently. Based on gains in population, income and education, it’s estimated to rise to over $1.54 trillion by 2022. More than half (63%) of all African Americans & Latinos have lived their entire life in the digital age. These tech-savvy Gen X, Millennial and Gen-Z consumers represent a coveted market segment whose interconnectivity is central to their everyday lives —particularly the product purchase cycle

But the percentage of black and Latino employees at major tech & design companies is extremely low, making up just %.001 - %3 percent of the tech workforce COMBINED. In total, the ratio of African Americans and Latinos to coworkers is about half in the tech & design sector of what it is in the rest of the private sector. THERE IS BOTH AN EQUITY & ACCESS CHALLENGE WITHIN

KICKS ACADEMY is an innovative work force development program, powered by early stage non profit start up Kicknknowledge (501c3). KICKS ACADEMY uses sports and the process of footwear design to bridge the educational gap within the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, Media,

Entrepreneurship, & Design disciplines.

KICKS ACADEMY brings innovative educational programming for FREE to traditionally underserved and underrepresented students in elementary, middle, and high schools across the globe with the hopes of creating diversity within STEAMMED industries for the current and future generations of black and latino youth.

EVERYONE IS AN ATHLETE! We believe firmly in the ethos that daily life is a sport that you must play to the fullest. A well developed mind and body are amazing catalysts to support participants of all ages to increase positive lifelong habits for good health, critical thinking, self-

efficacy, persistence, and accountability. Sports also provide invaluable

opportunities for participants to engage in positive intergenerational relationships, make friends, and build long lasting memories. We use Sports as a way to connect the biological sciences,

technological advances, and life sciences into our curriculum.

FOOTWEAR IS AN AMAZING GATEWAY TO UNLOCK CREATIVITY AND IMAGINATION. Students are exposed to all aspects of the footwear industry. This exposure allows them to explore everything from design and manufacturing, to marketing, merchandising, media and retail, while learning the powerfully important aspects of STEAMMED

education that will impact and empower them for the future.
